Steve Cole
We are thrilled to have Steve Cole on our Playcay Pro Roster! His journey is both inspiring and impressive, making him one of the most sought-after instructors in the pickleball world.
Born in Daytona Beach, FL, Steve started his career by coaching youth sports before moving to Las Vegas, NV in 1997. After working 36 successful years in the retail pharmacy sector, Steve retired in 2017. One of his proudest moments was marrying his wife, Denise Marie Cole, in 2014—a year that would also mark the beginning of his passionate love affair with pickleball.
In the spring of 2014, Steve picked up pickleball and quickly rose to a 5.0 level player within just four months, practicing daily. By 2016, he entered his first pro tournament and took home Gold. Since then, his achievements have only multiplied, with over 120 Pro/5.0 tournament wins, including 6 National Championships, 5 U.S. Opens, and 13 World Senior Games.
In 2019, Steve became a certified pickleball instructor (IPTPA) and joined the Plaza Hotel and Casino as a Pro Instructor. With experience teaching over 4,000 players through camps, clinics, and lessons across the USA, Canada, and Mexico, Steve’s expertise continues to grow our Playcay athletes, and we couldn't be more excited to have him on board!
